Speed up your PC

There are a number of reasons why your computers performance can degrade over time. Listed below are the 5 most common reasons:

TO MANY PROGRAMS
The longer you have your computer, the more programs can get installed. A lot of these programs automatically set themselves to load when you turn the computer on. When running, they all use their own little chunk of RAM (or Operating Memory)
It is possible to disable or uninstall these programs, leaving more memory available for the programs you actually want to run.

NOT ENOUGH RAM MEMORY
Depending on the age of your computer, upgrading your RAM Memory can be an affordable way to give your computer a “Speed Injection”. RAM tends to be priced around $50 to $100 and can be installed and tested in about 30mins.

MESSY HARD DRIVE
Hard Drives can cause speed issues too. If you have had your computer for a while, your files may be fragmented all over the disk, meaning the drive has to work harder and slower to access them. A simple Defragmentation can re index your files and order them in a way that makes it faster for the computer to access.

DATA OVERLOAD
When your Hard Drive is getting full, your computer is working harder and slower to find data/files you are requesting.
A great solution for this is imagining your drive to a newer and larger disk. Another option to increase speed is moving to a Solid State Drive; however these remain quite pricey for minimal storage gain.

MALICUIS SOFTWARE
Your computers performance will generally be affected if your computer is infected by Malware (Viruses, Potentially Unwanted Programs, Trojans, and Spam). A reputable paid Internet Security application such as ESET Nod32 Antivirus can help remove some of these nasty infections. We also recommend running Malwarebytes.com alongside your paid antivirus; this is a free on demand scanner which can find some bugs that virus scanners may miss.
